Dental Trauma

Comfort Dental Care service is for ambulatory patients who have recently suffered dental trauma and require additional care.

When a tooth has been displaced from its normal position, broken, or has been completely dislodged and has come out of its socket.
Toothaches are not considered dental trauma. If you have a toothache but have not recently experienced dental trauma please call Comfort Dental Care during regular business hours to schedule an appointment for treatment.

 Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm
*office closed daily from 12:30pm - 1:30pm for lunch

In the event that the injury suffered is work related, your employer must provide written authorization for dental services prior to treatment. Comfort Dental Care can fax a form to your employer for authorization.
To expedite service, please provide your employer's contact information including phone number and fax number, where they can be reached to confirm treatment authorization.
Your employer is required to provide a credit card number to guarantee the account. If your employer's workman's compensation insurance does not pay within 45 days, the employer will be responsible for 100% of the balance.

This is a private, fee-for-service business. Payment is required at the time of service. VISA/MasterCard/Debit cards are accepted. No personal checks please. All insurance claims will be processed the next business day for reimbursement to you.

Following primary emergency care, a doctor must write a referral to Dr. Comfort's office for dental trauma services. Treatment should begin immediately so teeth will have the greatest chance at being accepted back by the body.

  1. If you have a dislodged tooth, hold the tooth by the crown and rinse off the root in saline or water if it's dirty. Do NOT scrub it or remove any attached tissue fragments. Do NOT dry the tooth. This will destroy the cells.
  2. If possible, gently re-insert and hold the tooth in its socket. (Do not re-insert “baby” teeth.) If re-insertion isn't possible, put the dislodged tooth in a cup of cold whole milk or a tooth saver kit provided by the ER. If these are not available, water can be used to keep the tooth from drying out.
  3. Get in contact with Comfort Dental Care as quickly as possible. Remember to bring the tooth with you!
  4. Call 916.315.8830. Following the message press 03. This will page Dr. Comfort.
  5. Dr. Comfort is readily available and will return your call with instructions of how to proceed for treatment.
